The Conceptual Study of Public Spaces of the Vyšehrad NCM
After years of experience, Vyšehrad has a well-thought-out plan for tastefully and considerately managing and cultivating its public spaces.
The Conceptual Study of Public Spaces of the Vyšehrad NCM, which was prepared in the course of 2020, represents the initial foundation for the conceptual planning of rehabilitation and development of public spaces in the area of the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument. In addition to the analysis of their current state, the study focuses mainly on defining a comprehensive vision and the basic principles of creating and managing public spaces, greenery and furniture with regard to their residential qualities, monument protection and the need to adapt to ongoing changes of the climate.
The conceptual study was prepared by the Czech-German studio Rehwaldt Landscape Architects on the basis of its winning competition proposal and in accordance with the Concept of Development of the Vyšehrad NCM in the years 2020-2025 (download here - in Czech only). The final form was consulted with other actors in the territory of Vyšehrad and approved by the Resolution of the City Council of Prague in March 2021.
