Birgitt Fischer: WLCM
Birgitt Fischer (born 1972 in Offenburg) - between 1988 and 2008 she worked as a technical draftsman. Between 2008 and 2014 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Studio of Intermedia Work, Prof. Milan Knížák School). In 2007 she participated in the International Summer Academy in Salzburg. In 2009 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in the professor Florian Reiter’s studio (member of the Austrian art group Gelitin) and in 2012 she completed an internship at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (Prof. Michael Clegg and Armin Linke). She has been exhibiting regularly since 2008. Among the important exhibition projects that place the author in the context of the Czech and Central European art scene are, for example, Gelitin in Berlin (Galerie VenenklasenWerner, Berlin, 2010), NAH DAHINTER (Embassy of the Czech Republic in Berlin, 2012), Saures Europa / Acid Europe (Galerie Runde Ecke, Riesa-Efau, Dresden, 2018) or Nicht (Museum zeitgemäßer Kunst Dresden [NMZKD], Neumarkt Dresden). Significant independent presentations include projects On the Road / Unterwegs (Galerie Kritiků, Prague, 2016), Mezi lesy / Zwischen den Wäldern, (OGV Liberec, 2017), Mimicry (Klub Gumárna, Čáslav, 2018) or Wortpaare DE-CZ (Tag der offenen Tour of the German Embassy in Prague, 2018). She lives and works in Prague.
