Baroque Goes Jazz Trio

A strong cooperation of three excellent young Slovak musicians – flutist Lenka Molčányiová, violinist Ján Kružliak Jr. and pianist Miloš Biháry – who have been playing compositions by baroque and jazz authors (J. S. Bach, H. Purcell, C. Bolling, O. Peterson) in their own arrangement since 2020. Their well-known and lesser-known works take on a new, original character in this instrumental cast, while the common denominator of both styles is the art of improvisation in this trio’s performance. In the chamber hall of the Old Burgrave’s House, you will not only have the opportunity to enjoy the virtuosity of the three multi-genre musicians, but you could also get carried away with them by the playfulness of improvisation and the fresh interpretation of baroque music and jazz.

Baroque Goes Jazz Trio is the author’s project of Lenka Molčányiová, who liked to combine old music with jazz already during her studies of flute and jazz saxophone abroad (Italy, Germany) and today she moves confidently in both styles, Miloš Biháry is a leading pianist of the young generation in the both classical music and jazz (Miloš Biháry Jazz Funk Brothers) and the genre range of Ján Kružliak Jr. ranging from classical to folk and jazz music to rock-pop and electronics, he is also an actor and author of scenic music.
