The Star of Alena Ladová

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the painter and illustrator Alena Ladová (1925—1992), her first solo exhibition is being held in Prague after almost fifty years.

It will also present the lesser-known freelance work of this extremely hard-working author, who is well-known in the public eye mainly thanks to her illustrations of children’s books - she created over two thousand of them for dozens of titles. Alena Ladová’s childhood is closely connected with the location of the exhibition, she was born in the immediate vicinity of Vyšehrad, in today’s Ladova Street in Podskalí.
