THE TÁBOR GATE
The Tábor Gate was built around 1640 to guard the route from South Bohemia, Tábor and Benešov to the Prague towns. It’s a tower-type gate with a vaulted driveway closed on both sides by stone portals. On the first elevated floor, there used to be a guard room for the operators of the drop-down grating and a corridor for shooters. In 1931, a pedestrian gateway was broken through the fortification wall. From 2023, the area of the gate is used by the community center Táborka.
