The open air theatre is located in the area of the former artillery redoubt, the youngest part of the Vyšehrad fortifications. If necessary, it was possible to control and shell the city from here. Today, it is the venue for theater performances, musical performances, and social events in the open air. Every year, it hosts the Metropolitan Summer of Acting Personalities and Vyšehrad Fencing. The space is available for rent.

Every May, the summer stage comes alive with a fencing festival offering a varied program for all generations and entire families. Lovers of dramatic duels, thrilling stories, and light-hearted tales will always find something to enjoy here. The festival is organized by NKP Vyšehrad in cooperation with leading Czech historical fencing groups.
Metropolitan Summer of Acting Personalities
Since 2003, the open air theatre has hosted the Metropolitan Summer of Acting Personalities every year from June to September. Theater performances take place every evening, regardless of the weather. In addition to premieres, there are also popular productions from previous years and musical performances. The event is organized by Studio DVA in cooperation with NKP Vyšehrad.
