Photography and Filming

The Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument area consists of publicly accessible outdoor areas and interiors that are open to the public as part of guided tours. We recommend that you familiarize yourself in advance with the conditions for photography and filming for private and commercial purposes.

Publicly accessible outdoor areas

Photography and filming for personal use is permitted without restriction, as is sharing images on social networks, provided they are not of a commercial nature. We ask visitors to respect the privacy of others when taking pictures, not to interfere with public greenery, and not to damage the grounds' furnishings.

Interiors and tour routes

Photography and filming are permitted without the use of flash, tripods, selfie sticks, or other lighting or auxiliary equipment, provided that it does not disturb other visitors. Recording the guide's commentary is only possible with their consent.

Commercial use

Any photography or filming for commercial purposes – such as professional wedding photography, filming commercials, movies, music videos, fashion or product photography, and similar projects – requires prior approval from NKP Vyšehrad. Conditions must be agreed upon in advance, including the date and other details.

Requests for permission for commercial photography or filming must be sent in advance to sekretariat@praha-vysehrad.cz.

Flying a drone

For safety reasons, to protect monuments and public green spaces, and out of respect for visitors, flying drones over the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument complex without prior consent is prohibited. A drone is considered to be any remotely controlled unmanned aircraft, including unmanned aircraft that do not require registration with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Czech Republic. Permission to fly over the grounds administered by the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument may be granted by the director of the organization.

Requests for permission to fly a drone over the Vyšehrad complex must be sent in advance to sekretariat@praha-vysehrad.cz.

Please note that it is necessary to comply with the general rules for flying drones in the Czech Republic, which are subject to European legislation and supervision by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Taking photos and videos during events

By participating in a guided tour or other publicly accessible event organized on the premises of the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument, visitors acknowledge that photo or video documentation may be taken during the event. This documentation is used to promote the activities of the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument, for example on websites, social networks, in printed materials, etc. The images are taken primarily to capture the event as a whole, not specific individuals.

NKP Vyšehrad protects the personal data it obtains from misuse and processes it in accordance with applicable legislation. For more information, please visit the Personal Data Protection page.
