FOK at Vyšehrad
Antonín Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”
Vyšehrad – a place of legends, symbolic beginnings, and ceremonial returns. In June 2026, the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK returns here for only the second time in its history, bringing music that resonates across the world into the setting of one of the Czech Republic’s most significant landmarks.
Under the baton of Chief Conductor Tomáš Netopil, the iconic Symphony No. 9 in E minor “From the New World” by Antonín Dvořák will be performed – a work that brings together Czech musical tradition with inspiration from distant lands, and continues to move audiences with its power, melancholy, and hope. The evening will be hosted by Ondřej Havelka, who will guide listeners not only through the music itself but also through its story.
Following the celebratory concert marking the orchestra’s 90th anniversary in 2024, FOK once again symbolically “moves on the wings of music” from the Municipal House to the Vyšehrad Gardens – this time on the wings of Dvořák’s music. An exceptional meeting of music, history, and an open summer evening awaits you.
The concert is held in cooperation with the National Cultural Monument Vyšehrad and the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK.
Admission is free.

Princess Libuše’s Treasure
During the evening, visitors will have the opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to the collection of Princess Libuše.
Vyšehrad is not only an exceptional historical site, but also a lively city park visited by thousands of people every day. In addition to its well-known landmarks, it also features smaller monuments—statues, crosses, chapels, and wells—which contribute to its unique character. However, these monuments are subject to the ravages of time and require regular care and restoration.
