Vyšehrad Underground
Casemates to the redoubt at Vyšehrad
Visit the newest part of the underground, completed by the French army, and the artillery redoubt, which offers a unique view of Prague Castle.
The casemates under the bastion of St. Leopold were completed in the mid-18th century. They served the military garrison for quick and unnoticed movement within the fortifications. The entrance to the underground is from the Brick Gate, where the guardhouse was located. The corridors lead to the artillery redoubt.
The casemates to the redoubt are only accessible as part of special tours and by appointment.

The highest underground corridor
The first part of the corridor from the Brick Gate reaches an impressive height of 6.5 meters. It offers a remarkable perspective, enhanced by the steeply rising terrain.
Casemates by candlelight
Upon prior arrangement, a costumed guide can be provided to take you through the Vyšehrad underground by candlelight. Experience the mysterious atmosphere of a time when electricity did not yet exist.
